The Internews representative office in Kazakhstan announces a grant competition for content production “Small and Large Format”.
Areas
- They are looking forward to your ideas in the following areas:
- Combating disinformation, fact-checking and data verification.
- Recognizing propaganda and manipulation, and their impact on human life and health.
- Explaining the importance of media literacy to representatives of various groups of society.
- Providing an information platform for vulnerable groups of society, countering hate speech towards them.
- Content aimed at reducing the digital divide caused by lack of experience with technology and limited access to information.
- Content aimed at destroying negative stereotypes that have developed in society.
Funding Information
- Within the “small format”, one project can receive financial support in the amount of 500 thousand to 3 million tenge. As part of the “large format”, one project can receive financial support in the amount of up to 7 million tenge.
Duration
- For a “small format” it is from 1 to 3 months, and for a “large format” it is 6-9 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Independent authors, creative teams and small groups can participate. There is no limit to the number of team members, but you must describe the work each member does. The idea must be relevant and result-oriented. Experience in creating similar media projects will be an advantage.
- Non-state local media, online publications, newspapers and magazines, small television companies, radio stations, production studios, independent authors, journalists, bloggers, artists, activists and other creative groups can apply. Teams may be beginners, but know their audience and have a well-developed idea.
- Note: All applicants from Kazakhstan must have a valid legal entity (LLP, individual entrepreneur, foundation, etc).
Ineligible
- Internews does not support media that fulfill government orders for content similar to the proposed project.
- The “small and large format 2024” grant competition will also not consider projects for the creation and promotion of websites, the production of feature films and TV series, social videos, music videos and educational content.
