The Alliance of Independent Journalists collaborates with the Google News Initiative to open opportunities for journalists and fact checkers to submit proposals for the Media Grant.
The theme of this coverage is “Revealing Behind Disinformation and Information Manipulation in the 2024 Election”.

Form
The format or form of coverage for this fellowship is expected to be in the form of:
- Investigation
- Working as a team in one editorial team or in the form of collaboration between media or research institutions;
- Deliver investigation coverage plans, initial findings, investigation methods, and budget plans.
- In-Depth Coverage
- Deliver in-depth coverage plans, initial findings, data collection methods, and budget plans.
Funding Information
- Investigation
- Coverage funding support: range IDR 25 – 30 million.
- In-Depth Coverage
- Coverage funding support between IDR 8 – 10 million;
Criteria
- Investigation
- Multimedia publications are highly anticipated; and,
- Complete coverage for 3 months.
- In-Depth Coverage
- Can be individual or in a team;
- Coverage methods using digital tools will be a special consideration;
- Multimedia publications are highly anticipated; and
- Completed coverage for 1.5 months.
Requirements
- Journalists or fact checkers who have attended OSINT training or investigating disinformation or online information manipulation;
- Can complete projects according to timeline; and,
- Willing to publish the results of investigations or in-depth coverage in the media where they work.
