The Netherlands Film Fund (NFF) and the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF) is seeking applications for a funding scheme to support a number of feature films and documentaries that are co-produced.
Funding Information
- Feature film: Maximum €200,000
- Documentary: Maximum €50,000
- Note: Each year, a maximum of four feature films and three documentaries from each territory are eligible for a production grant.
Who is eligible?
- A production company (a legal entity, not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) that has been established for at least two years in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland and that produces and exploits films and other audiovisual productions on a continuous basis.
- The production company is represented by the Dutch minority co-producer. He/she has been the majority producer responsible for the realization of:
- at least one feature film with a cinema release in the Netherlands (feature film application);
- at least one (long) documentary with a cinema release in the Netherlands (documentary application).
Conditions
- The film production must have received production support from the VAF.
- The total contribution of Dutch funds and market parties to the realisation of the film production must amount to at least 10% of the total production costs.
- National cinema release must be guaranteed in the country of the majority co-producer by a film distributor or market parties from the local exploitation chain.
- The film production must be released in the Netherlands. The applicant must submit a written statement signed by a Dutch film distributor.
- Any financial contributions under Eurimages and/or other European funding must be allocated to the applicant on a pro rata basis.
- The financing of the film production must be fully and unconditionally committed by third parties within 15 months of the decision to grant the subsidy.
- If an application is also made for the Production Incentive, you must also use the Netherlands Film Production Incentive budget model for the Dutch expenditure of the selective application.
- The applicant shall share pro rata in the world proceeds of the film production.
- Of the awarded Film Fund contribution, 100% (for feature films) or 60% (for documentaries) of the awarded contribution must be spent in the Netherlands (cast, crew, etc.).
