Production Development Feature Film and Full-Length Animated Film Fund

In the production development phase, a production-ready scenario is expected and it concerns the elaboration of the production and financial-business design in preparation for possible realization. This includes investigating financing options, the detailed development of the production budget and an appropriate financing plan. In addition, a limited amount is available for a final polish of the scenario.

Only film plans that have been developed so convincingly in terms of artistic content that there is a good chance of realization are eligible for a contribution for production development.

Funding Information

• You can request a maximum of € 25,000 (incl. 15% producer fee & overhead) for the production-related business development.
• This includes, for example:
  • a production feasibility study, drawing up a production budget and production planning with an executive producer;
  • setting up (international) co-financing (including visiting co-production markets);
  • a possible final scenario polish (max. 2,500 euros);
  • developing the first contours for the distribution strategy.

Who is eligible?

• A production company (a legal entity, therefore not a sole proprietorship or partnership) that has been established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland for at least two years and produces and exploits films and other audiovisual productions on a continuous basis.
• The production company is represented by a producer with demonstrable experience in professional film/television practice and has demonstrable experience in producing and releasing major feature film(s) and/or full-length animated film(s).
• The producer representing the production company is not the same person as the director of the film.
• From the project development phase (and previously artistic development and production development), the application must be made by a production company and may no longer change.
