Deadline: 1 August 2024
Applications are now open for the Scripps Howard Grant Program to support journalism education by giving students the tools and resources necessary to produce impactful work.
Hispanics and Latinos make up 20% of the U.S. population but only 12% of those working in media, and representation of Hispanics and Latinos in newsrooms has barely budged over the last decade.
The Scripps Howard Fund is seeking to fund new journalism internship programs aimed at increasing the number of Hispanic and Latino journalists working in specific regions where they are under-represented in newsrooms.
The goal of this internship program will be to open doors for young Latinos to get paid professional experience and mentorship – which will hopefully kick-start their journalism careers.
