Deadline: 16 June 2024
The Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation has launched the Photographer Scholarship for young professional photographer who are wishing to carry out photographic production of a documentary nature in France or abroad, in the social, economic, political or cultural field.
Purpose
- The scholarship will be awarded to a photographer designated by name and not to a group.
- The award of this scholarship must allow the Laureate to carry out the documentary project presented with a view to obtaining the scholarship.
Funding Information
- In 2024, the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation (housed at the Fondation de France) wishes to reward a young photographer, hereinafter the “Candidate”, with the award of a grant of €10,000 (ten thousand euros).
Eligibility Criteria
- Be at least 35 years old on December 31, 2024;
- Be French-speaking: the Candidate must not necessarily have the nationality of a French-speaking country but must be able to present their project in French, in writing (and orally, if selected to appear before the jury);
- Have already produced and published at least two documentary projects in press titles (paper and/or web), in a book or an exhibition catalogue. These publications must include several representative photographs of each of the projects for the author to be a Candidate;
- Practice the profession of photographer as your main activity;
- If the Candidate has already submitted a file to the Photographer scholarship in the past, it is recommended to present a project other than the one previously sent. If, however, the Candidate wishes to submit the same project, it must have evolved significantly and the file must include new elements;
- Each Candidate can only present one project.
