CFI has launched a call for applications to support 80 Ivorian media outlets in the responsible and reasoned use of social networks in their work, as part of the Désinfox Côte d’Ivoire project.
The ” Désinfox Côte d’Ivoire ” project offers training on the mechanisms of disinformation and their consequences on journalism in the digital age for Ivorian journalists. The objective is to support them in strengthening their capacities in order to reduce their vulnerability to information manipulation.
Aim
- This project, implemented in partnership with Polaris Asso, aims to reduce the risks to social cohesion in the country by promoting responsible use of social media and strengthening the resilience of Ivoirians to false information.
Cost Covered
- From a logistical point of view, the project will cover the costs of travel, accommodation and catering if necessary, for the trainings. Each training will be held in the cities mentioned above. For participants coming from areas surrounding the cities, transport costs will also be covered by the project.
Eligibility Criteria
- Candidate media must imperatively meet the following conditions:
- Be a radio, television, print or online media outlet
- Be based in Ivory Coast in the following locations: Abidjan, Aboisso, Grand-Bassam, Grand-Lahou, Gagnoa, San Pedro, Bondoukou, Abengourou, Adzopé, Séguéla, Man, Daloa, Touba, Divo, Bouaké, Yamoussoukro, Korhogo, Ferkessédougou, Odienné, Bouna
- Have a politically independent editorial line
- Have an audience at the local and/or national level
- The editorial team must be composed of at least three (3) journalists
- Media managers undertake to involve at least two journalists in the on-site training, and to appoint a journalist – relay who will have to raise awareness in turn, his colleagues at the end of the remote coaching. Their active commitment for the successful implementation of the project is essential.
