Do You want to gain a better understanding of the entertainment media landscapes in Germany and Türkiye? You want to network and cooperate with filmmakers and TV producers from Türkiye and Germany? Then apply for the German-Turkish Media Dialogue and Incubator Program MeDI 2024.
With support from the German Foreign Office, MeDI 2024 aims to bring together up to 15 TV producers, film makers, journalists and digital content creators from Turkey and Germany for two intensive workshops and a digital incubator session. Participants will receive input from experts, engage in discussions and develop joint output focusing on entertainment in the context of depictions of history and social values in Turkey and Germany, as well as their relationship with one another.
Furthermore, the group will have the opportunity to meet and exchange with media experts, content creators, academics, and opinion-makers. Throughout the program, participants will attend two three-day workshops organized in Istanbul on July 24-27 as well as in Berlin and Cologne in late October 2024. The workshops will serve as a platform for training, peer learning, knowledge exchange, networking, and collaborative enterprise for the participants.
Successful applicants will participate in workshops in July in Istanbul as well as in Berlin and Cologne in October, hold online meetings and embark upon collaborative projects with a view to strengthening media cooperation and countering polarizing narratives within and between the two societies.
Program Activities
- 2 workshops in Istanbul and Berlin+Cologne (all travel expenses will be covered).
- Visits to production companies, TV studios, and digital creators.
- Development and production support for the output content.
- Networking opportunities with media professionals from both countries.

- TV producers, filmmakers and digital creators from Turkey and Germany;
- With an interest in political, economic, and socio-cultural developments in both countries;
- Open to collaboration on cross-cultural media projects to counter polarizing and extremist narratives;
