Mediengeist 2.0 is a Goethe-Institut project financed from a special fund of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the aim of strengthening the sustainability of Ukrainian cultural and educational partners.
Mediengeist is an accelerator of projects to counter destructive narratives, fakes and disinformation in connection with Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Project participants will be able to undergo intensive training from leading Ukrainian and international lecturers and will receive mentoring support for project implementation.
Stages of the Project
- Stage 01: Training
- At the first stage, they will select 30 participants/teams. During September, they will be able to improve their skills in media literacy and content creation for social networks, financial management of projects, learn new approaches to storytelling, search for creative ideas, and learn to interact with technological innovations. Mentors will be leading world and Ukrainian experts.
- At this stage, all participants will receive scholarships in the amount of 300 euros.
- Stage 02: Development of Your Own Projects
- Seven best projects will go to the second stage of the accelerator, each of which will receive 1,000 euros for the creation and implementation of an idea.
- Together with mentors, each of the seven participants will work on its implementation.
- The Mediengeist team will provide expert support and the necessary training. During October and November, participants must launch a demo version of their own project.
- Stage 03: Scaling
- At the end of November, the teams will present their results and compete for three prizes of 5,000 euros to scale their own idea. The Mediengeist team will provide mentoring support for the implementation of scalable projects within the accelerator.
Who is this opportunity for?
- They invite proposals from bloggers from Tiktok and Youtube, activists, journalists, artists, founders of technology startups working on the topics of media literacy, anti-fakes, and/or in the field of civil society development through digital technologies.
- The ability to interact with large audiences will be an advantage. You can also apply with your team.
