Deadline: 22 May 2024
Applications are now open for the next round of New Producers, the training programme for people who’d like to better understand how to produce film events for audiences in Scotland.
Host organisations for New Producer placements are Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA), Scottish Queer International Film Festival (SQIFF), Scottish Mental Health Arts Film Festival and Take One Action.
The New Producers programme aims to increase the number of marginalised people working for cinemas and festivals within Scotland. This includes those marginalised due to race, gender, sexuality, age, class, and disability. This comes from a recognition that these identities are not adequately represented within the Scottish screen industry.
Benefits
- The programme offers a placement of four months, based at a host organisation. The placement is offered part-time at the real living wage of £12 per hour. Each role is offered for four months, 3 days per week, 8 hour days.
Who can apply?
- You don’t need any previous film experience, just a passion for cinema and an interest in working in the industry.
- Please note: this opportunity is not open to full time students.
- Participants must have the right to work in the UK.
- Those marginalised in the UK Film Exhibition sector due to race, gender, sexuality, age, class, and disability.
