Internews is excited to announce the specialized social media and audience engagement training “Managing Social Media Campaigns” tailored for journalists who have been part of the Enquire project.
Social media is an important extension and complement to traditional communications, advocacy and public relations. It offers significant strategic opportunities for journalists and media organizations to increase their visibility and credibility, maximize the reach of influential content, and enhance their audience engagement. Through strategic engagement, journalists can also play a key role in encouraging dialogue and audience participation, contributing to ongoing problem-solving and promoting accountability in the digital realm.
The topics will be scheduled over eight weeks, of two weekly sessions, starting March 15, 2024. All workshops will take place on Zoom. Sessions will be scheduled based on the availability of participants and the trainer.
Objectives
- Improve journalists’ Capacity, Competence, and Knowledge in communication-related tasks
- Refine journalists’ Thematic and Methodological approaches to communication activities
- Strengthen journalists’ Organizational and Institutional capacities.

Cost Covered
- Each participant will receive compensation to cover internet costs amounting to $150 upon completion of the training.
Eligibility Criteria
- Journalists who have participated in previous Enquire activities and trainings from Lebanon, Iraq and Sudan are invited to apply for this training.
- Participants must commit to attending and engaging with all workshops to obtain a completion certificate.
- Part of this project involves using the skills acquired in training through volunteer work. Participating in this course means that you are interested in volunteering for 20 hours per week, for a period of three months (6-7-8), with a civil society organization working on religious freedoms or human rights, with Internews covering an honorarium.
