Apply now for the multi-year activity subsidy from the Film Fund for a film festival with a national and international appeal to stimulate the distribution, knowledge development, profiling and promotion of professional film in the Netherlands and distinguishes it from other film festivals based on the results achieved in previous years.
Funding Information
- The fund grants a multi-year activity subsidy to a maximum of seven film festivals for the period 2025-2028.
- The subsidy ceiling for the multi-year activity subsidy for film festivals for the period 2025-2028 has been set at €630,000 per year.
For who is it?
- Film festivals with a national and international appeal are eligible.
- The multi-year activity subsidy is intended for film festivals with great regional importance or a current or innovative offering aimed at:
- the international animated film;
- the international short film;
- the international science fiction or fantasy film;
- the international film in the field of human rights and urgent social themes.
Who can apply?
- A legal entity specialized in film (i.e. not a sole proprietorship or general partnership) from the Kingdom of the Netherlands that is responsible for the organization of a film festival with at least six previous editions with a large and diverse audience.
Conditions
- Applications for this multi-year activity subsidy are only possible for a film festival that:
- takes place in the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
- collaborates with private and public partners who substantially contribute to the costs of the film festival, whereby local financing from the municipality and/or province or an affiliated fund for at least 5% is a condition;
- has organized at least six editions of the relevant film festival with a large and diverse audience;
- focuses on a genre unique to the Netherlands or is of great regional importance;
- in addition to a national appearance, it has an international appearance;
- ensures a clear positioning of Dutch films within the programming and is important for (the visibility of) film professionals working within the Dutch film sector.
