The Netherlands Film Fund is pleased to announce the Minority Co-Production Short Animation and Research & Experiment Film Fund.

- The maximum contribution is €50,000.
Who is eligible?
- A production company (a legal entity, i.e. not a sole proprietorship or partnership) that has been established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland for at least two years and produces and exploits films and other audiovisual productions on a continuous basis.
- The production company is represented by the Dutch minority co-producer. As a major producer, he/she has been primarily responsible for realizing:
- at least one free animation production (not a commissioned film) in the Netherlands (application for short animation);
- at least one free, non-commissioned production in the Netherlands (request for research & experiment).
Conditions
- To be eligible for a contribution, the film production within the total range of international co-productions must be of exceptional artistic and substantive quality and be linked to a substantial creative and technical contribution from film professionals from the Netherlands.
- The application must demonstrate that:
- 50% of the financing from the main producer’s country of residence has been confirmed.
- The total contribution of Dutch funds and market parties to the realization of the film production must amount to at least 10% of the total production costs.
- To be clear by means of a signed statement how tasks and responsibilities are allocated between the foreign majoritarian co-producer and the Dutch minority co-producer and how the co-production takes shape;
- The following conditions and obligations apply to subsidies:
- The applicant must have exclusive filming and exploitation rights for preferably the Benelux and, if the rights for Belgium and Luxembourg have already been granted, at least these rights in Dutch territory.
- The film production must be released in the Netherlands, either in film theaters or with a non-theatrical release or both. An exception is made for a film production in the short animation and research & experiment category, but then a thorough distribution plan must be submitted.
- The financing of a film production must be fully and unconditionally demonstrably committed by third parties within 12 months of the decision to grant a subsidy.
