Youth Week Photography Competition 2024 – Australia

Deadline: 28 April 2024

The City of Canada Bay is currently accepting applications for the Youth Week Photography Competition.

Categories

  • They’re looking for interesting and creative photos taken by you! Prizes will be awarded in the three categories outlined below.
    • Category one: Express
      • Unleash the boundless creativity of photography to capture the ways people express themselves. Explore the depths of human emotion, individuality, and cultural identity through your lens. Seek out moments of raw authenticity; where gestures, faces and surroundings become the canvas for self-expression.
    • Category two: Empower
      • Through the lens of your camera (or phone!), capture moments that embody the theme of “empowerment”. Seek out scenes of strength, resilience and self-empowerment in individuals or communities. Whether it’s a quiet moment of personal triumph, an act of kindness or a group rallying for a common cause, translate the spirit of empowerment into an impactful photograph that inspires the viewer.
    • Category three: Get Loud!
      • Capture energy and enthusiasm in a single photograph. Whether it’s a bustling street filled with people, a lively concert crowd immersed in music, or a dynamic moment of self-expression, use your camera to show them what “getting loud” means to you.

Funding Information

  • There will be four major prize winners: one for each category and one People’s Choice Award winner, which will be decided through a vote on Facebook. Each prize winner will receive one $100 JB Hi-Fi gift voucher.
  • There will also be three runner-up prize winners: one for each category. Each runner up will receive one $50 Dymocks book voucher.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Entrants must be 12–18 years of age at the time of entry. All entries younger than 18 years, must be made with consent of a guardian or adult over 18 years old.
  • All entrants must be residents of the City of Canada Bay. Employees of the City of Canada Bay and their immediate families are ineligible to enter.

All entries must be an independent creation by the entrant and free of any claims that they infringe any third party rights. • Employees of the City of Canada Bay and agencies associated with this promotion (Canada Bay Council) are ineligible to enter the competition, as are their immediate families.
  • To enter, entrants must submit to Collaborate Canada Bay database (collaborate.canadabay.nsw.gov.au) an original photograph within the categories specified on the website. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries.
  • The entries will be judged by a panel, made up of the judges from the following teams: Library & Community Services and Media & Communications.
  • The voting will be done by a popular vote by the panel and the decision will be final.
  • The City of Canada Bay accepts no liability whatsoever for any costs incurred in the preparation of any entry or any other losses arising from the entry.
  • The City of Canada Bay reserves the right to not announce any winner.
