Do you have a way with photos? An urge to capture the beauty of the world in a single frame? Here is your chance to shine! This International Literacy Day, you are invited to share your photos on the regional theme “Enhancing literacy through multilingualism: Promoting peace across the Blue Pacific Continent”.
This photography competition is an opportunity for our Pacific people to showcase creativity and capabilities that will strengthen the region’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen literacy standards and to meet the education goals set out under the global Sustainable Development Goal 4.
International Literacy Day (ILD) will be celebrated under the global theme of “Promoting multilingual education: Literacy for mutual understanding and peace”.
Prize Information
- 1st Prize: FJD 1000 worth of photography equipment
- 2nd Prize: FJD 500 worth of photography equipment
- 3rd Prize: FJD 200 worth of photography equipment
Eligibility Criteria
- Photos must capture authentic moments, events, or scenes that align with the competition theme, which is divided into the four following categories:
- Literacy in Food Systems
- Literacy in Climate Change
- Literacy in Oceans
- Literacy in Gender DI Entrants can submit a maximum of 5 photos.
- Entrants are open to submit photos related to the four categories listed above.
- Photos must be innovative and include a 100-word descriptor.
- The photographer must be from the Pacific (including Australia and New Zealand).
- Submit high-resolution photos in jpeg, jpg, png or 4 tiff formats.
- Photos must belong to the entrant. If previously published, entrants must hold photographer rights and indicate where the photo first appeared.
- Entrants must be 13 years or older. By entering the competition, entrants agree to allow SPC-EQAP to publish the photos in print or electronic formats.
