- 1st place per grade: $1,000
- 2nd place per grade: $500
- People’s Choice winner per grade: $100
Competition Details
- Open to students in grades K–12 whether enrolled at K12-powered schools or any other school in the U.S.
- All photo entries must be taken by the student during the contest entry period (May 28, 2024–August 26, 2024).
- There is no limit to the number of photographs a student can enter.
- AI-generated photos are not eligible.
Eligibility Criteria
- Competition is open to legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. Contestants must be enrolled in grades K–12 at time of entry (“Entrant” or “You”) and must reside in the U.S. at the time of their entry to be eligible for the Competition. Parents or guardians of students under the age of 13 must submit entries on behalf of their student(s). Employees of Sponsor and its respective parent company, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, distributors, and partners (collectively, “Competition Entities”), and their immediate family members, and/or those living in the same household of each are eligible to enter or win. Competition is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited by law. Sponsor’s decisions are final and binding on all matters.
Judging Criteria
- Impact and Storytelling (50%)
- Judges assess the photo’s ability to captivate and convey a story or emotion. Does it have a clear focal point? Does it evoke feelings or spark curiosity? A compelling photo that engages viewers and tells a story would score high in this category.
- Creativity and Composition (25%)
- Judges consider artistic elements, including composition, framing, and visual balance. Is the photo well-composed? Does it demonstrate creative use of angles, lines, and perspective?
- Technical Proficiency (25%)
- Judges evaluate technical aspects such as exposure, focus, and sharpness. Is the photo properly exposed? Are details clear and well-defined? A photograph demonstrating technical proficiency, characterized by good lighting and focus, would receive a high score in this category.
