Netherlands Film Fund Immerse\Interact Project

The Netherlands Film Fund is pleased to launched the Immerse\Interact Project to encourage projects within the interdisciplinary media landscape.

Artistic research and experimentation in the field of digital storytelling and the use of interactive or immersive media are central. Immerse\Interact is a collaboration project of the Creative Industries Fund NL and the Film Fund.

Funding Information

  • Development
    • Development contribution requested by the Film Producer/AV Producer
      • €25,000 per project. In addition, a maximum of €5,000 can be requested for coaching. This coaching contribution must be part of the total amount requested (maximum €30,000) and included in the budget.
    • Development contribution requested by individual maker
      • €15,000 per project. In addition, a maximum of €5,000 can be requested for coaching. This coaching contribution must be part of the total amount requested (maximum € 20,000) and included in the budget.
  • Realization
    • Realization contribution requested by the Film Producer/AV Producer
      • Maximum €110,000 per project for production costs.
      • It is possible – if properly substantiated – to request an additional contribution of € 5,000 for distribution.
    • Realization contribution requested by individual maker
      • Maximum €35,000 per project

Who is eligible?

  • Both producers and individual makers can submit an application depending on the amount of the requested contribution. Applicants are resident or established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a Member State of the EU, EEA or Switzerland. The applicant’s profession/main activity is developing or producing film/AV productions within the Netherlands.
  • Film producers and AV producers (a legal entity, not a sole proprietorship or partnership) with a demonstrable track record in the field of interactive storytelling or immersive media forms (360-degree video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality) can apply.
  • Individual makers who produce the project themselves may also be eligible up to a certain contribution level, if they have demonstrable expertise in the field of interactive storytelling or immersive media forms. In order to apply, individual makers must be registered in the register of the Chamber of Commerce. Individual makers who apply for realization must have at least one realized and exhibited project in the disciplines mentioned. To this end, a brief overview of completed projects must be submitted with the application, in which he/she describes his/her own production experience and the exhibition locations per project.

Conditions

  • Eligible are artistic projects (majoritarian Dutch film projects) with a supporting cinematic component in which storytelling, both fiction and non-fiction, in relation to interactive (web-based/mobile) or immersive media forms (360-degree video, VR, AR) is central. stands. Crossovers in the form of transmedia productions and installations can also be considered.
  • Projects that have previously received a grant from the Film Fund and/or Creative Industries Fund NL for a project are not eligible for a contribution for the same stage (development, realization) of that project. In addition to the application to Immerse\Interact, it is not possible to submit an application for the same project to one of the other schemes of the Film Fund or the Creative Industries Fund NL.
