The Netherlands Film Fund is excited to announce the Screenplay Development Feature Film and Feature-Length Animated Film Fund.
Funding Information
- Scenario development
- If the applicant is a screenwriter:
- Screenwriter(s): max. € 35,000
- Script coach/expert advisor: max € 2,500 (depending on substantiation of work plan)
- If the applicant is a screenwriter:
- If the applicant is a production company:
- Screenwriter: max. € 35,000 (also for debut film)
- Surcharges for multiple screenwriters: max € 10,500 (30%) extra
- Script coach/expert advisor: max. € 2,500 (depending on substantiation of the work plan)
- Director: max. €5,000 (depending on the substantiation of the work plan)
- Long animation (> 60 min.): max. €10,000 for concept art, character development and beat/storyboard
Who is eligible?
- A production company (a legal entity, therefore not a sole proprietorship or partnership) that has been established in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a member state of the EU, EEA or Switzerland for at least two years and produces and exploits films and other audiovisual productions on a continuous basis.
- The production company is represented by a producer with demonstrable experience in professional film/television practice and has demonstrable experience in producing and releasing major feature film(s) and/or full-length animated film(s). The producer representing the production company is not the same person as the director of the film.
- As an exception to this, a screenwriter who has previously been primarily responsible for the screenplay of at least one feature film or full-length animated film released in Dutch cinemas can also independently submit an application to one of the film consultants for screenplay development.
- From the project development phase (and previously artistic development and production development), the application must be made by a production company and may no longer change.
